he was born, and always lived, in Savona. He left us on April 2007.
He -after classical and university studies, and after leaving the musical ones- has been teacher of General and Inorganic Chemistry in senior high school and teacher of Photography in state high school. He has been consultant and artistic manager of the Galleria Civica in Savona. He begun to work in photography in 1978 From 1989 he managed advanced courses of photography, under the sponsorship of Savona Rotary Club. He obtained outstanding recognitions from the Italian Federation FIAF, from the Féderation International de l’Art Photographique and the Photographic Society of America. He was one among the most active member of the Rodolfo Namias Group since 1996.
Many times awarded in national and international contests, he counted one hundred personal exhibitions.
His works are, in addition to the complete collection at “Il Diaframma” in Milano, at the Bacin Dvor Museum (HR), the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, the Municipal Museum in St. Paul de Vence (F), the Fondazione Corrente in Milano, the Historical Museum in New Delhi (IND), etc. He published “Ritratti 1983-1993”, “Viraggi 1985-1995”, “Fotografi e fotografia a Savona 1839-1939”, “Ritratto di città”, and “Viraggi 1977-2006”.
With the departure of Mario, the GRN lacks another authority of knowledge, creativity and liking. In particular, the group loses his ever constructive criticism and analysis of the members' images.
