Pierluigi Manzone was born in Alba (CN) in 1959, and since 1974 he lives in Cuneo.

His interest toward photography begins in 1975. At first as an autodidact, he studied in depth with Francesco Bontadi and Michele Pellegrino.
In 1986 he begins to be interested in the history of the Piedmont photography giving rise to a nowadays rich collection of Carte de Visite and many other photographic documents.

Since 1990 he mainly uses, for his research on photography, large format pinhole cameras.
